Officer Kassandra West joined the Bakersfield Police Dpeartment in 2020.

During the past four years, Officer West has worked as a Patrol Officer and a Field Training Officer. She is currently assigned to the Training & Logistics Division.

“One of the most important things you can do to prepare for a career in law enforcement is making sure you are physically able to handle the job. I’m not talking about running after criminals or jumping over walls. I’m talking about the ability to handle stress, mobility in your hands, feet, torso, and legs, and the tolerance to be comfortable in uncomfortable situations.”

Officer West is part of the Physical Training Unit of the academy, and enjoys anything related to fitness.

Officer West has an Associates Degree and Bachelor Degree in Criminal Justice, and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration.
