Captain

Captain Brian Holcombe started his career with the Bakersfield Police Department in 2005. Since being hired, Captain Holcombe has worked in every division of the Department. As a Patrol Officer and Senior Patrol Officer he worked in Patrol, the Kern Narcotics Enforcement Team , the Special Enforcement Unit, and Training & Logistics. As a Detective, he took assignments in both the Investigations Division and Internal Affairs. Upon being promoted to the rank of Sergeant, he supervised Patrol, the Special Enforcement Unit, Bakersfield Polce Department Training Academy, and served as a Public Information Officer. In 2019 he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant. As a Lieutenant he worked with executive leadership to create and manage the Quality Assurance Unit.

Captain Holcombe holds an Associate’s Degree in Correctional Administration from Bakersfield College, a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology from Fresno State University, and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from California State University, Bakersfield.
