JEREMY BLAKEMORE
Assistant Chief
Assistant Chief Jeremy Blakemore oversees several divisions of the police department including the Training and Logistics Division, Investigations Division, and Support Services Division. Assistant Chief Blakemore was born and raised in Bakersfield and has been serving this community with the Bakersfield Police Department since 2003. He has worked in a variety of assignments and positions across the organization including the K-9 Unit, Directed Policing Unit, Field Training Officer, Academy Instructor, Child Abuse and Sexual Assault Detail, and HIDTA Taskforce. He has also previously supervised or managed the Kern County Auto Theft Task Force, Crime Analysis Unit, Patrol Section, Communications Center, Records Section, Community Relations Unit, Police Academy, and the Technology Development Section.
Assistant Chief Blakemore holds an Associate of Arts Degree in Administration of Justice from Bakersfield College, a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from California State University of Bakersfield, and a Master of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Cincinnati. He also possesses a California POST Management Certificate and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy.
