Captain

Captain Gregory began his law enforcement career in 2003 with the Kern County Sheriff’s Office and was hired by the Bakersfield Police Department in 2005.

During his tenure, Captain Gregory has worked a variety of assignments and positions across the organization including as a Police Officer assigned Patrol and the Special Enforcement Unit. In 2010, Captain Gregory was promoted to Senior Police Officer, where he was assigned to Patrol, the Special Enforcement Unit and the Training Division. In 2014, Captain Gregory was promoted to the rank of Detective. During his time as a Detective, he was assigned to Major Narcotics and Robbery/Homicide. In 2017, he promoted to the rank of Sergeant where he was assigned to Patrol as a field supervisor, Robbery/Homicide as a unit supervisor and as an Internal Affairs investigator. In 2022, he promoted to the rank of Lieutenant where he was assigned to the Special Operations Division as the Impact Unit commander. In addition, Captain Gregory was a member of the Special Weapons and Tactics team for 14 years and concluded his tenure as a Tactical Supervisor.

He was promoted to the rank of Captain in 2025 and is currently assigned to the Field Services Division (Patrol).

Captain Gregory holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and a POST Management Certificate.
