Bakersfield Police Station

Seth Palmer

  • Current Position/Assignment: Administrative Officer II/Senior Police Officer and Lead Recruiter in the Training Division
  • Years of Experience: 15
  • Education: Associates Degree from Bakersfield College
  • Assignments Held: Patrol Officer, K-9 handler, Robbery/Homicide, Impact Unit

Senior Officer Palmer grew up in Bakersfield, where he played baseball and football throughout high school. He attended Bakersfield College where he also played baseball and graduated with an Associate’s Degree. Seth was hired by Bakersfield Police Department in 2009. He is a Field Training Officer, an academy mentor and instructor and is also a Recruit Training Officer. He loves activities such as barbequing, golf, baseball, working out and spending quality time with his amazing family. Seth volunteers his time as a baseball coach for a local youth club team.

Shelly Beeson

  • Current Position/Assignment: Communications Supervisor, Administration
  • Years of Experience: 20
  • Education: Bachelor of Science, Sociology, Arizona State University
  • Assignments Held: Dispatcher, Communications Training Officer, Communications Supervisor, Tactical Dispatch Lead

Shelly Beeson was a police dispatcher for thirteen years and was promoted to Communications Supervisor in 2016. She is a team leader for the Tactical Dispatch Team, which is a special team of dispatchers who respond to S.W.A.T. callouts and special events.

Shelly was born and raised in Kern County. She is married with one adult son and two dogs. She loves to read, cook, travel, and spend time in nature.

Mike Broida

  • Current Position/Assignment: Police Officer assigned to the Impact Unit
  • Years of Experience: 3
  • Education: Bachelor degree in Business Administration/Marketing, CSUB
  • Assignments Held: Patrol Officer

Mike Broida has been with the Department for approximately three years and previously worked in the event industry. Mike has lived in Bakersfield his entire life and is currently married with two children. Mike still acts as a DJ/MC on the side and lends his craft to several events hosted by the Department.

Amy Droege

  • Current Position/Assignment: Administrative Officer, Training and Division
  • Years of Experience: 4
  • Education: Bachelor of Science, Kinesiology – Exercise Science, CSUB
  • Assignments Held: Special Enforcement Unit, Patrol Officer

Senior Police Officer Droege began her career as a Police Officer on patrol where she worked into a special assignment. Currently she is responsible for facilitating training for our officers. Her favorite part about her current assignment is helping mentor individuals who want to serve their community. She also serves the department as a Physical Training Staff Instructor, Defensive Tactics Instructor, Recruit Training Officer and K-9 Agitator. Amy was born and raised in Valencia, CA. She loves to spend time with her family and friends, go hiking and snowboarding, try new restaurants and hang out with her two dogs.

Kelsey Vincent

  • Current Position/Assignment: Police Property & Equipment Specialist
  • Years of Experience: 7
  • Education: High School Graduate
  • Assignments Held: Registration Unit, Records Division, Training Division, Technology Development

Kelsey Munoz has been employed with the Bakersfield Police Department since 2017. She has been a Clerk Typist assigned to the Registration Unit, Records Division and Training Division. She was promoted in 2021 to Police Property & Equipment Specialist assigned to Technology Development managing equipment. Kelsey was born and raised in Bakersfield. She enjoys riding horses, running and fitness, sports, and the outdoors life, outside of work.

Kassandra West

  • Current Position/Assignment: Administrative Officer I in the Training Division
  • Years of Experience: 5
  • Education: Associates and Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Masters Degree in Public Administration
  • Assignments Held: Patrol Officer

Senior Police Officer Kassandra West has been with the Bakersfield Police Department for 5 years. Kassandra has been a field training officer and has taught at the academy. She is actively involved in the physical training aspect of the academy and enjoys anything fitness related. She enjoys reading in her spare time and hanging out with her family.

Didi Zamora

  • Current Position/Assignment: Community Relations Specialist in the Community Relations Unit
  • Years of Experience: 10
  • Education: Bachelors of Science in Criminal Justice
  • Assignments Held: Five years with the Bakersfield Police Records Division

Didi Zamora has been with the department for about 10 years. She started as a citizen volunteer, which lead to an internship in the Community Relations Unit. She was later hired in the records unit as a Clerk Typist. During that time she worked in the registration unit, front counter, and the 24 hour desk. Hercurrent position is a Community Relations Specialist, where she has been for the last 5 years. Didi loves spending her free time reading and listening to podcasts. She also loves doing yoga and spending time with her dogs!
